IT Support Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

We have an immediate need for an IT Support Technician to join our IT Team at our head office in Markham, Ontario. Reporting to the Chief Intelligence Officer, this position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for an IT Professional to play a key role in keeping our day-to-day operation humming.

As the IT Support Technician, you will provide technical and IT admin assistance within the organization. This position will help support the development, coordination, maintenance, and management of our systems. This job is a great opportunity to use your technical knowledge and skills to impact the business operations. The IT Support Technician reports to the Chief Intelligence Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide day-to-day user support, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching and upgrades, installation and training in the areas of computer software, hardware, and telephony
  • Perform Help Desk functions for service requests, computer imaging, equipment ordering and decommissioning
  • Network administration; including user account setup, corporate backups, email account management, e-mail systems management, office systems & applications support
  • Configuration management, server maintenance and deployment while maintaining service integrity
  • Establish continuous monitoring practices of on-site and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Performing daily/weekly/monthly checklist tasks including server event logs and equipment maintenance
  • Performing domain name registration and DNS management, webserver maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Performing on call duties in rotation
  • Creating and maintaining procedures and documentation for internal use. Prepare regular audit reports for management review.
  • Flexible work hours are required
  • Assisting with building office maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Information Technology Degree or Diploma, or relevant industry certifications (MCSE), and 1-3 years work experience supporting Windows10 in a corporate Microsoft Windows Environment
  • Familiar with O365 admin roles and environment, Power Platform Admin, and Microsoft Azure
  • Provide excellent internal customer service
  • Team-player who can also work independently
  • Excellent English communication skills – both written and verbal

The following qualifications would be considered an asset:

  • Privacy and Data Security Policy experience
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Familiarity with DevOps as it relates to Microsoft Azure
  • Experience administering and configuring MacOS, Linux or Ubuntu systems
  • MCSE: Productivity Solutions Expert certification
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification
