State Space Control with Active Suspension

The Quanser Active Suspension experiment mimics the behavior of a single car tire, and thus can be seen as a quarter-car model. With it’s bench-scale design, it is ideally suited to help students understand state-space control design principles. In this webinar our engineers will demonstrate how to design a LQR state feedback controller and implement it on the actual Active Suspension system to observe what effect the design parameters have on the overall system performance. Furthermore, the design of a full-order state observer will be discussed to recover two unmeasured system states.
