MATLAB® and Simulink® have been the dominant tools used in Controls for years. However, Python is becoming more and more popular with enhanced tools and an ever-growing demand from industry for Engineers with Python experience. Uri Rogers received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Boise State University. He has held numerous positions in industry at various levels of management and engineering, working for companies that include Hewlett-Packard, Seagate Technologies, and three start-ups. In 2014, he joined Eastern Washington University and is currently an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include molecular communications, autonomous control systems, distributed signal processing, and wireless communications. Recently, he has become an evangelist for the use of Python in Undergraduate Engineering Education.
